Community Commitment and Political Aspirations
A Journey to the Michigan House of Representatives

My family relocated to Livingston County from Lapeer County in 1996. My dear mother Kathy worked for the register of Deeds there and then transferred and worked for 25 years in Livingston, until her recent retirement. I have been involved in the community of Livingston County for nearly 28 years. I attended the Student Statesmanship Institute in Lansing the summers of 1998 & 1999. I had the incredible opportunity to learn about Government and the political process and even partake in Moch-legislatures and debates on the House and Senate floors at the Lansing Capitol. I always knew that my time and place to be involved in the Legislative process was inevitable. My wife and I, after much prayer and support from both those I align with and those I do not, have made this decision to run for the office of Michigan House of Representatives. So many have reached out and encouraged me to run, to help bring us back to some sort of normalcy compared to the desperate current state of our Great State. I am an area small business owner and I have served thousands of families in our community over nearly 15 years in the water filtration industry. I sit on the Board for my local Chamber of Commerce and in 2023 received the 2022 “Emerging Leader” award (see photos). I am a Proud Catholic Christian and my family volunteers as often as possible with the Knights of Columbus, our food pantry, or our church offering weekly prayer and communion service at a local rehabilitation facility.

Addressing Michigan's Challenges
My Candidacy for Change

I am running due to the dissatisfaction that so many people in our community have expressed to me.  The current state of affairs here in Michigan is alarming and frankly it does not seem sustainable.  A primary concern is the economy, the rising cost of groceries and fuel, the strain on many families and businesses from inflation, the cost of living, mortgage rates, lack of residential property inventory and a governor that would rather raise taxes, not fix the roads and is more concerned with subsidizing immigrants with $500/month for rent.  They have made the claim that they are for the working people and their actions prove they are the exact opposite, especially when they force through partisan issues.  You can find this information on the Michigan.gov website, just search “newcomer Rental subsidy”.  So How does it help working people when they exploit their tax dollars to dish out cash to those not willing to get a job and earn their own income.

The process is to create good and fair legislation that is not partisan and that is sustainable and pass the bills that the residents of Michigan want to see enacted.  This should not be confused with the fact that There are many generous citizens who do so much to help those in need but families are struggling and we need to take care of our own before we help others.  It is not the place of the government to unilaterally redistribute money that should be used for fixing the roads, funding Police and fire departments or securing our borders from the influx of fentanyl. The political division in our state is a major concern especially when many people are stepping out of politics due to the divisions.  There are a growing number of parents concerned about the things their children are seeing and hearing in schools. My desire is to help vote in any way to help return to normalcy.  We need to protect the environment, boost the economy, stimulate small businesses growth, lower taxes, and make sure that kids are getting a good non-biased education.  My call to step up could not have been any more clear.  It is time to correct our course. I live in a district where nobody who has the means or fortitude to accomplish what needs to be done was willing to step up.  I have answered this call and I am willing to listen to my neighbors and work with anyone willing to.
